3.2. Cookies
We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and stores on your device (such as a laptop, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit our website. Cookies do not damage your device and do not contain viruses, trojans, or other malicious software.
Each cookie stores information related to the specific device being used. However, this does not mean that we immediately gain knowledge of your identity.
Cookies help make our website more user-friendly and effective. We use cookies, for instance, to recognize you during subsequent visits if you have an account with us; otherwise, you would need to log in again for each visit.
Our website uses cookies to the following extent:
- Transient cookies (temporary use)
- Persistent cookies (limited-time use)
- Third-party cookies (from third-party providers)
a) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID that enables various requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session. Your computer can therefore be recognised when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.
b) Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a specified time, which may vary from one cookie to the next. You can delete the cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.
c) You can configure your browser settings according to your own requirements and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. We must point out, however, that you may not be able to use all of this website’s functions in this case.
Types and purposes of cookies used by Paul Hewitt:
Functional Cookies: Functional cookies ensure that all features on the website operate properly. For example, they enable information to be transferred from one page to another. These cookies also store certain preferences you have set for using the website (such as preferred language). No prior consent is required for the use of these cookies.

These technologies enable targeted advertising to users who have shown interest in our shop and products. Numerous studies have shown that relevant advertising is more appealing to users than non-personalized ads. Retargeting displays ads based on prior online user behavior. Only pseudonymized or non-personal data is stored. The use of retargeting technologies complies with current legal data protection regulations. You can prevent such ads by disabling and/or deleting existing cookies.
The data processed by cookies is necessary to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of third parties according to Art. 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

This website uses technologies from Zendesk Inc., 1019 Market St, San Francisco, USA (www.zendesk.com), to collect and store pseudonymized data for web analysis and for operating the live chat system, which is used to respond to live support inquiries. To prevent the storage of Zendesk cookies, you can set your internet browser to prevent future cookies from being stored on your computer, or to delete any previously stored cookies. However, disabling all cookies may result in some features on our website not functioning properly.
Depending on the course of conversation with our employees, additional personal data may be generated in the chat, provided by you. The nature of these data depends on your inquiry or the problem you are describing. Any information you provide in the chat with our employees is given voluntarily.
Contacting us via the live chat is only permitted for individuals aged 16 and over or with the consent of a legal guardian. By using this feature, you confirm that you are over 16 years old or have obtained consent from a legal guardian.

The legal basis for this direct marketing following the sale of goods or services is Art. 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
You can object to the use of your personal data for these advertising purposes at any time, in whole or for individual measures, without incurring any costs beyond the basic transmission fees. 7. Web Tracking
7.1. Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel)
This website uses the Facebook/Meta Conversion Pixel for tracking visitors' actions. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. According to Facebook, the collected data may also be transferred to the USA and other third countries.
This allows the behavior of website visitors to be tracked after they are redirected to the provider's website via a Facebook ad. This enables the effectiveness of Facebook ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes, and future advertising efforts to be optimized.
The data collected is anonymous to us as the website operator, and we cannot draw conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook, so a connection to the respective user profile is possible, and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Use Policy (https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/). This allows Facebook to show ads both on Facebook pages and outside of Facebook. We, as the website operator, have no influence over this use of data.
The use of this service is based on your consent according to Art. 6(1) lit. a GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
To the extent that personal data is collected on our website using this tool and forwarded to Facebook, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). The joint responsibility is limited exclusively to the collection of the data and its transfer to Facebook. The processing by Facebook after the transfer is not part of the joint responsibility. Our shared obligations have been recorded in an agreement on joint processing. You can find the text of the agreement here: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. According to this agreement, we are responsible for providing data protection information when using the Facebook tool and for ensuring that the tool is implemented securely on our website. Facebook is responsible for the data security of Facebook products. Data subjects’ rights (e.g., access requests) regarding data processed by Facebook can be asserted directly with Facebook. If you assert your data subject rights with us, we are obliged to forward them to Facebook.
The data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. For details, please refer to: https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum and https://de-de.facebook.com/help/566994660333381.
